Over 25 years ago, Spectacle was founded with a clear vision: to showcase the most influential eyewear and sunwear brands from around the world. Since then, it has grown into a trusted name in Toronto, with three locations and a loyal clientele who seek out not only inspiring design, but also world-class customer service.

To mark this quarter-century milestone, Spectacle underwent a refresh of its visual identity—one that reflects how the brand has evolved while staying true to its core.

At the foundation of the new identity is a timeless, design-forward wordmark, paired with a monogram inspired by the motion of a blinking eye. This symbol is both elegant and expressive—a nod to the act of seeing and being seen.

Central to the refreshed look is a distinctive multi-coloured gradient, drawn from a centuries-old painting created around the same time spectacles were invented in 13th-century Italy (1286 AD). The blurred imagery evokes how people once saw the world before corrective lenses—a poignant reminder of the essential role eyewear plays in modern life.

Spectacle’s new identity bridges the past and future of vision, capturing the art, science, and style of seeing the world clearly.
